Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown

Valet was awesome! Very quick especially for a busy weekend. The main lobby looked great! The rooms... lack luster. We had a suite and were ok with it. We got to see a room some of our friends were staying in and, wow, the basic rooms were very small for the price. The bathroom doors... oh man, those were trash. We could see when someone was in there... the "frosted" glass was mediocre at best.... and they were rolling/sliding doors that were noisy and got stuck half of the time. Our bathroom door, didnt even lock. The handle was loose and moved alot. Elevators were noisy and clunky, no biggie. (They were always going, never had a chance to stop.) In the hallways you could see the carpet wasn't flat anymore and the wallpaper was peeling from around outlets, corners and really just anywhere there was a seam. The restaurant in the hotel, while it had great food, it was small. The pool area, decent size. Water was really cloudy. But, again, it was a very busy weekend so we just figured that was because of use and the 10,000 teenagers. (Understandable) I wish I would have taken pictures of all of the things we noticed wrong. We were slightly disappointed in the lack of, what appeared to be care for the overall look of the hallways and rooms. But, the staff were friendly, and the place was clean. We would stay there again if we needed to, but, I would not go out of my way to choose it.

Great location and beautiful views. Older rooms with no coffee / tea or microwaves. There is a $tarbucks in the lobby with two disgusting microwaves. A small restaurant downstairs with bar food, it worked! Very close proximity to City Market food options and delicious coffee shop Nicholas's.

We had an amazing experience during our stay. The room was incredibly fresh, spotless, and spacious, making it feel comfortable the moment we walked in. The location was absolutely perfect, close to everything we needed while still feeling relaxing and convenient. What truly set this hotel apart, though, was the outstanding customer service. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. A special thank you to Markia, Daniela, and Debbie, who went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. Their kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail made us feel right at home and left a lasting impression. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and top-notch service. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

I had a wonderful experience here. The room was clean and cozy. The staff was warm, welcoming, and kind(specifically Markia, Debbie, and Daniela) Check in was wonderful Debbie and Daniela were great and made sure I had everything I needed. I will definitely be coming back for future stays. The view from our room was also beautiful!

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and its staff. They truly saved the day for my group during an unexpected crisis with our Airbnb. Despite us arriving very late, they were incredibly accommodating, kind, and welcoming. The staff was absolutely amazing—Markia, the manager, went above and beyond to help us and made a stressful situation so much easier. Debbie and Daniela were also wonderful: friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. You can tell they truly care about their guests. On top of the outstanding service, the view from the hotel was absolutely breathtaking. Everything about our stay felt warm and well taken care of, especially considering the circumstances. I am beyond grateful to this team and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for excellent service, friendly staff, and a beautiful place to stay. Thank you again for turning a crisis into a great experience!

We had our Union party Christmas party here. Beautiful room, amazing food. The staff were very good and pleasant. We also got a room. I’m in this cozy clean bed now!!! lol I love this room!! The view I took a picture every time I got up! Beautiful!!!! I live in Pittsburgh and feel like I’m out of town. Love it!!!!

We stay here whenever we come to Pittsburgh! The rooms are nice and the location is fantastic! We park the car then walk to everywhere we want to go from restaurants to shopping and hockey games to football games! The best though is their service! The staff are always friendly and smiling! I have never once had an issue that they didn't immediately take care of! I highly recommend!

The Wyndham Grand in downtown Pittsburgh was an interesting stay. The lobby and common areas were very clean and tidy, and I appreciated the card access needed to use the elevators. The hallways leading to the rooms felt a little claustrophobic due to the low ceilings and lack of recesses for the doors. It reminded me of being on a cruise ship. The rooms themselves were clean, but felt a little cramped and the decor was a bit outdated. Overall that wasn’t a problem. The bathrooms worked just fine, my shower head was pretty loose and leaked down the wall. I will note that the bathroom’s pocket door has texture glass windows on it, and while it obscures details, you can still see through it. The room had large windows with a great view of the river and the Steelers stadium, and it provided a lot of natural light during the day. You’re about a 16min walk from the convention center, and while driving is an option, it can be hard to find parking downtown. The hotel doesn’t have a free or dedicated parking lot on site so you’ll either need to pay the valet service or you’ll need to find a paid lot to keep your car. If I could do my trip over again, I would have simply gotten an uber from the airport and walked everywhere. The cafe in the lobby is pretty good for coffee in the morning, but I my experience with the breakfast sandwiches wasn’t great. Half of the bun was soft and half was like a hard roll. It could have been a fluke, but I’ll probably skip it if I stay here again. Overall it was a good stay, but I could see how some of these notes could be an issue for some guests.
